sugar-sucrose-fact-2

What is Sucrose?

Almost anything you buy at the grocery store contains sucrose, a natural compound of sugar. Sugar is one of the highest acid forming foods you can eat, and who do not love the sugar’s sweet taste.

Sucrose gives you that quick and easy extra boost of energy. Once producers refine sucrose, the end product is the white crystal sugar found in most kitchens and dining room on tables, world-wide.

If you hear or see words such as beet sugar, (most of which is now genetically modified or containing GMOs, a whole different story) sugar cane, refined sugar, and even plain old white sugar included on food labels, it is likely that you that food item contains sucrose. Once you eat sucrose, your body metabolizes this natural sugar into fructose and glucose.

When you eat or drink sugar, such as soda the sucrose causes your blood glucose to elevate quickly. The sad thing is that after your blood glucose spikes, these glucose levels quickly plummet downward. There is no tapering off noted.

To remain healthy eliminate all sugar content, because there are other options in which to obtain healthy (complex) carbohydrates, such as those found in fresh fruits, vegetables, and some grains that give you a steady energy boost versus sudden spikes to your blood glucose levels.

Sometimes you may need a quick boost of energy and sucrose addresses this need such as an emergency answer to a person with diabetes experiencing extreme hypoglycemia.

You should eliminate everything white on your kitchen shelves such as white flour, baking soda, white sugar along with all of its other names, and much more. White essentially and eventually means “death.”

5 Science-Backed Facts about Sucrose

1. Is Sugar Cause for Concern?

The United States is and remains in an obesity crisis, and there are many differing reasons why you may be obese, just 30 pounds over your ideal body weight range. Or, are you morbidly obese over 30 pounds your ideal body weight range?

Some reasons why America sees an obesity crisis and reason you may use for your obesity.

  • I eat too much fast food
  • I have or am depressed, anxious, nervous, lonely.
  • I Overworked, no time to eat a decent meal, too tired to fix a well-balanced meal
  • I am not overweight; I am just too short
  • I love and cannot live without my “sugar fix.”

The last excuse may have hit the nail on the head. Research says that if you consider yourself an average American, then you eat at least 61 pounds of refined sugar yearly, and 25 of these pounds are candy.

2. Wrinkles and Fine Facial Lines

Research finds that sugar, no matter what you prefer to call it, causes facial wrinkles and fine lines when you over eat sugar most of your life. The sugar you consume enters your bloodstream and attaches to the proteins in your blood, causing “Advanced Glycation Ends.” How many AGEs do you want in your body and on your face? Because, the more sugar you eat, the more AGEs you develop.

AGEs damage proteins, such as collagen and elastin, which help to keep the skin firm and more elastic. Your body has a natural abundance of protein that is until sugar destroys it.

In its natural state collagen appears on the skin as resilient and springy skin surface characteristics. The end product of too many AGEs is skin that is dry, brittle, forming many wrinkles, fine lines, and saggy appearance.

Keep eating an abundance of sugar, and after you turn 35 years of age, you start to see the damage sugar caused.

It is nearly impossible to eliminate all sugar from your diet. Eat more complex carbohydrates and reduce the sucrose, beet sugar, fructose, high corn syrup, refined sugar, and sugar cane from your grocery cart. In time, you see a big a difference in the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines on your skin, you have more energy and fewer health issues.

3. An Abundance of Sugar Equals More Health Issues

Research has found that sucrose or whatever name you want to call it contributes largely to some health issues such as but not limited to,

  • Obesity and fat accumulation
  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes is making you insulin resistance
  • Cancer (is found to love sugar and thrives on sugar consumption) (cancer only thrives in an acidic environment that sugar offers)
  • Hormone Imbalance
  • Sleep Deprivation
  • Headaches
  • Depression, Cognitive Deficits as seen in memory impairment and Alzheimer ’s disease, Anxiety, Nervousness, Inflammatory processes, and much more

4. Diabetes, Type II

According to the British Medical Journal, medical researchers found higher levels of sugar consumption lead to Diabetes, Type II. And, many people who did not have a history of diabetes, acquired diabetes type II, after a consistent high intake of sugar in the diet.

Elevated levels of sugar in your blood lead to insulin resistance in your body. The pancreas releases insulin naturally in the body, but when you consistently take in high levels of sugar, your pancreas makes an overabundance of insulin. This increase of sugar, on a consistent basis, leads to an over accumulation of visceral fat around your abdomen.

Type 2 diabetes usually begins with insulin resistance, and sugar consumption is the directly associated with insulin resistance.

Growing amounts of visceral fat around your abdomen demands increased levels of insulin, a vicious cycle and a poorer response to insulin. The more sugar you take in the insulin your pancreas needs to make so your body can absorb the high levels of sugar. This vicious cycle makes you, insulin resistive.

This vicious cycle leads to ill health in this manner.

  • Blood sugar = >insulin resistance
  • Insulin output by the pancreas = > visceral fat around the abdomen
  • More insulin resistance, more fat, more insulin

insulin Resistance vicious

This cycle is likely to leave you feeling chronically fatigued and feeling ill.

Researchers found beyond a shadow of a doubt that lots of sugar lead to diabetes type II and acidosis, all linking to insulin resistance and sugar consumption.

5. Premature Ageing

Researchers found that consuming lots of sugar leads to premature aging.

Have you heard of antioxidants and how they fight free radicals or toxins in the body? Oxidative damage to the body is just the opposite and sugar is found to be the factor.

Antioxidants are a rejuvenation of the body’s cells. Oxidation is the tearing down of your body’s cells. Essentially, your body’s cells die off, causing a premature aging process if the cells do not rejuvenate. A rejuvenation of body cells is the reason why antioxidants are so important to the body, especially as you age. Sugar is found prematurely to age your body inside and out.

Oxidation creates some health issues such as heart disease, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, cardiac irregularities, peripheral vascular disease, enlarged heart or cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, atherosclerosis, and more. Researchers recommend replacing all sugar with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant rich, alkaline rich food choices in order to live a long and healthy life.

Research finds that sugar causes inflammatory processes, an acidic body, obesity, fatty livers, gout, and an imbalance of hormones, premature aging, and all the rest of the health issues mentioned above.

When you quit consuming sugar or atleast control it and eat more complex carbohydrates you will see positive results in your well being.
